Re: Next England manager
I think Howe would be a bad choice right now for the same reason. He's good with players day to day it would seem, being the England manager is about getting together cliques of players from the clubs that pay their wages, stripping them down and somehow shaping them into an actual team to WIN, not play good football and lose. International management is knockout football.

For this reason alone, Mourinho for me.

ah Brentwood F.C

had a nice little ground once .

Re: Next England manager
Harry would have been perfect for the job long before the idiot Hodgson was appointed, but then the FA would never appoint anyone more than a bit dodgey (apart from Venables that is)

Re: Next England manager
I can quite easily see Southgate plating some old FA exec's arse-hole so.....He's the man.

Re: Next England manager
Howe for me without shadow of a doubt

Plays good possession based football which is needed for the international game and for many seasons has got 110% out of a group of players. Could be manager for the national side for years to come.

And not even 40 yet

Brentford GRum
Brentford

He's a genius

Re: Next England manager
Southgate is a bit Coleman-esq but at the moment its paying off for Wales but it does make grim reading of English managers, they may look at Johnny Foreigner again if Brendan Rogers was top of their list!

Re: Next England manager
Pearce already involved in F.A set up at 50/1 looks worth a bet?

Re: Next England manager
If he continues his rise through the managerial ranks BRANDED, that's actually a pretty good shout.

Treated disgracefully at Brentwood and has done a superb job at Rangers so far.

Southgate as he's a typical FA yes man.

Re: Next England manager
Harry would do well in that job. He'd be like Venebales, who was the last to really have us playing with some balls.

Re: Next England manager
Mark Warburton would be sensational.

Pardew England manager?

Would a side picked on the basis of having the best looking partners be any good?

Re: Next England manager
Saw something that said the FA sounded out Mr B Rodgers as England manager a short while back.

Re: Next England manager
Fucking hell. Brendan Rodgers…..

That would be grim.

Still, at least he might not pick Sterling, and there's no way he could fuck up any transfers...

Son of Sam 9:56 Thu Jun 23
Re: Next England manager
Brendan Rogers might be a good punt at 16/1 given that the FA have been having secret talks with him

The job the Norn Iron manager Michael O Neill has done with 40 professional footballers to choose from has been phenomenal

But Pards or Howe are the logical choices bt the appointment of Southgate would not surprise me at all , he woulld be an ideal yes man

Grumpster 9:46 Thu Jun 23
Re: Next England manager
I wouldn't mind Pardew.

At least the first couple of years would be good before it became stale!

BubblesCyprus 9:42 Thu Jun 23
Re: Next England manager
Even when he was with us Pardew was the highest placed English Manager and given the UK's desire to have no Johnny Foreigner being Manager think Pardew would do a good job so long as they lock up all of the any half decent looking women at the F.A.

Re: Next England manager
England manager is a part time job for an older experienced man who has had his club career.
Redknapp would be the right profile if he wasn't a crook and had little international club experience.

Cant think of anyone appropriate off the top of my head and expect that Southgate will get it with talk of having come through the FA system blah blah blah.

Howe and Bilic should concentrate on being good club managers
